Dedicated to the Improvement and Preservation of Lake Poinsett South Dakota

What can be seen this year at the Lake Poinsett Visitor Center and Museum? There are hundreds of new items now on display that have never been viewed by the public. Many schools enjoyed their visits during May and took away a new interest in the history of the LakePoinsett region and the people of the past.

This first picture is one young visitor. Aiden Larson a 5 year old from Valley Springs, South Dakota who recently came to the Visitor Center and Museum with his Grandparents. His smile speaks for itself as he holds in his hands a stone from the belly of a beast! The object never displayed before is a dinosour gizzard stone! If you stop by the Museum you can learn why these huge critters had to eat rocks to digest their food.
